Session Description

When dancing, the leader is responsible for choosing which steps to perform.  As the leader of your classroom, you will choose which strategies will engage your students in the content no matter what you teach! You will learn about a few strategies then have time to brainstorm and process how you can incorporate them into your own classroom.

This info packed crash course is to help both SPED peeps and Gen Ed teachers know all the things they HAVE to know and DO to make sure they are actually following students IEP's, collecting data on goals for progress reports (every 9 weeks) and how to exactly do it, and what to say/not say in ARD meetings.  This class is suuuuuuuper informative, will be fun, and each attendee will leave with some knowledge, skills, editable goodies to help make implementing, gathering data, sharing data and information appropriately in ARDS, communication with parents, and how to organize and maintain data so your life concerning your sped kiddos is not adding any stress to your plate for the year.  I have lots of tips and tricks that, with a little front end loading and forethought, can set you up for a year of ease and enjoyment for you so you can navigate all things SPED with confidence!!!!  This class is great for SPED teachers and general education teachers alike.  Administrators are welcome too!!!

Discover how to engage an audience using the Keynote app for iPad by creating animated scenes using shapes, drawings, audio recordings, and exporting as a movie. During this session, you’ll learn all the different types of animations, transitions, and builds in order to explain a concept or tell a story. You’ll also use the draw tools in Keynote, so if you have a stylus - bring it to this session with your iPad!

Now it is time to collect and create! We will be searching the premade lessons, activities, templates, and videos that can be found in the Nearpod Library. We want you to build up your lessons by finding already curated content, and by showing you how to build your own Nearpod lesson.

There are lots of techniques and tools that you can use for students to demonstrate learning beyond just slideshow presentations. One of the challenges of technology is how much time is required by the teacher prior to getting kids engaged in the platform and the learning. This session features a wide variety of different tools to enhance learning and engage students in your classroom with a unique rating scale that measures both the “teacher lift” and levels of student engagement.

Ever wonder WHY you do the things you do?  WHY others do what they do?  Based on Simon Sinek's concept of knowing your WHY, this session will help you regain your passion for leading and teaching by defining your purpose.  

You will complete an online WHY Discovery and through this tool, you will discover WHY you do what you do, be able to articulate your WHY to others, and understand the importance of knowing  how this will impact your relationship with others.  When you know your WHY, your WHAT has more impact."
